Race Information
The
Fallon Community Health Plan "Canal Diggers 5Km & 1 Mile Fitness Walk" is going to be a fun road race that
will be open to runners,
joggers and walkers...it will highlight the great contributions that early Irish
immigrants contributed to the creation of the
Blackstone Canal which flowed from Providence, Rhode Island to Worcester,
Massachusetts bringing needed goods
in-land during the late 19th Century as well as celebrate the current revitalization
in the 21st Century of the up and coming
Canal District that includes Green Island and Kelley Square!

is from 9:15 - 10:45 A.M. inside the Fiddler's Green Irish Pub
-Registration & Fees-
1 mile walk starts at 10:45 a.m.
and 5Km starts at 11:00 A.M.
on Temple
Street in front of the Fiddler's Green Irish Pub
Historical Course including Green
Island,
Kelley Square, Harding Street, Millbury Street, Water Street, Union
Station, Major Taylor Blvd, DCU Center, Main Street & City Hall
-follow the path of the
Blackstone Canal as it once flowed through Worcester, MA-
The Run & Walk courses will be
well monitored by
Worcester Police Department Police Officers and numerous
Course Volunteers
There
will be (1) Water Stop on the 5Km course and (1) at the Finish Line
Awards - bottles of the new Canal
District sponsored "Lock 48" wine
to be awarded in the following women/men
age & weight divisions (medals to those under 21):
