The Festival first took place in 2008 at the current site behind John & Son's II, aka John & Son's Fairgrounds:>) It's birth is a direct result of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival which takes place every year during the last week in April and first week of May in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2008, we had two bands - The Chris Fitz Band and the Hurricane Horns. In 2009, we expanded the music line-up to include 5 bands, including The Chris Fitz Band, The Hurricane Horns w/ Special Guest Craig Rawring of the Delta Generators as well as River City Slim & The Zydeco Hogs, Henri Smith Friends & Flavours, and LisaMarie & All Shook Up.

The ultimate goal for future festivals is for there to be Gospel, more New Orleans bands involved and other genres of music which represent the neighborhood diversity that makes up the Village of Piedmont, Worcester, MA.
